As we always said LoopModules is a community-driven platform that aims to spread knowledge and great products to our costumers.
We’ve been creating a number of different modules on a weekly basis, but working with LoopModules involves much more. Creating a platform involves strategy, marketing, design and a lot more.
Our initial goal was to partner up with Appcelerator but that didn’t work out. Unlike many others we are not ready to give up on our idea because we really think it can be successful.
Long story short: to keep doing what we’ve been doing we need resources. For 6 months our efforts were completely focused on providing free modules that could help Titanium developers migrating their modules to Hyperloop. Unfortunately we learned that this business model is unsustainable.
That’s why today we are introducing some major changes in our distribution concept.
- We are now starting to charge a small amount of money ($4.99) for most of our previously free modules. You will find some modules under the “Free” category as we still want developers to get modules for free to give a try on Hyperloop.
- We also created an account on Patreon for LoopModules! Having people supporting us on Patreon will enable us to keep creating content for free at LoopModules. We intend to start working on other types of content soon (videos!) to help the community get more confident about Hyperloop, but that requires equipment that we currently don’t have (recording equipment, editing software, and so on).
With these changes we expect to have enough resources to keep us motivated and focused on making the platform even better.
